Throughout my almost 40 years of professional experience, I was fired 4 times for different reasons, but never for poor performance. The emotions I experienced were strong, including anger because it was being unfair to me, sadness and crying appeared. There also arose the fear and uncertainty of not hiring me soon, of not being able to continue paying the credit cards, the school fees of my children, and the home loan. What will my partner, my parents, brothers and friends think of me. In the same way you ask yourself, I do not know how I am going to handle the dismissal in future interviews, surely I will not be able to hire myself with the salary and benefits that I had. To be honest in one of them, it took me a long time to rehire, time in which the liquidation ran out, and I was afraid again of how to survive. I learned that all is not lost and that there is a solution for everything, to manage stress and that help always comes, sometimes it even seems like a miracle.

A little over 3 years ago, after another deep, very personal process that I went through without having the income level that I was used to earning, the opportunity came to me without my asking for it, the opportunity to collaborate with a world leading company dedicated to Outplacement as a consultant for hours and a few months later with a monthly equal. In this company I had the opportunity to support, during the 3 years and 3 months that I worked there, more than 300 professionals of various levels from General Directors to Managers. All of them experienced many of the emotions that I experienced in their own flesh and many of them were also experiencing personal situations which made the transition process more painful, so to speak, regardless of whether they had been collaborating in 1 or more than 30 years The company that had fired them. All of them resumed their professional careers at the perfect time for them, either in a new position or starting their own business or combining both.

I want you to know that when one door closes, another opens immediately; it is part of the nature of Life that is always giving us what we need. More it is necessary that we do the task that will lead us to meet that door. It is worth mentioning that that door also moves to meet one, as long as we are as serene, motivated, happy, trusting and believing in ourselves that at the perfect moment we will be back on the road. Here you could repeat the following statement daily morning, noon and night: I TRUST THAT I HAVE THE JOB THAT CORRESPONDS TO ME FOR MY INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY WELL-BEING AT THE PERFECT TIME.

Another task you have to do is prepare and manage a budget that allows you to live as long as possible, for which you will have to reduce your standard of living, otherwise you will end your settlement very soon and you will have to make use of your equity if you have been wise and have saved or invested in real estate. The important thing is to use your liquidation and not your assets when facing this transition.

When you experience this dismissal, you must ask yourself a question that does not necessarily have an immediate answer, perhaps you will find out later. This question is WHAT DID I WAKE UP FOR? Everything in life has a reason for being, nothing happens by chance. So I suggest you keep it in mind. In the last 3 years I have had the opportunity to verify in many of my participants why they were fired, recognizing the fact that if they had not been 100% available they would not have been able to live the experience and that it helped them grow in love and awareness with themselves and with others. So I suggest you leave the anger and frustration of this event behind and look ahead, you will not be able to change the decision. Life is as if it were telling you “Son no longer around here, now it’s in this other direction, because I have better opportunities or a better way for you, I just need you to trust.” In other words, “The only constant in life is Change” as Heraclitus of Ephesus said.

You need to know how to handle emotions throughout your transition process so that you can find your new position. Your success in handling them each day will make a difference in how long it will take you to get high again.

Now, the key to being considered in the positions you apply is to have a HIGH IMPACT Curriculum Vitae, where you really communicate what you want them to know about you and your ability to achieve results.

If you do not have a CV that communicates, it will be difficult for them to call you and in the end you will have to hire yourself in a company only for a salary that may not be at the levels you had at the time of being fired, as if it were a panic purchase, because already You will have been overwhelmed by the situation in which you live. You deserve the best, we all deserve it simply because of those who we are.
